The dream French final?

altHi Everyone!

It is like waiting for the gunfight at the OK Corral: a Federer vs Nadal final at the French Open. The showdown is expected, with the rest of the draw dismissed as support players in the Broadway production starring ‘Roger and Raffa’.

Sport has a strange way of twisting fate, yet I think this final will happen in the same way that Borg and McEnroe were destined to meet in that historic Wimbledon final, or Sampras and Agassi in Sampras’s last US Open final.

The women’s side is a different story completely. Henin is favourite but Clijsters, Sharapova and Mauresmo are marginally less favourites. However I look at Petrova and Kuznetsova as massive threats and could Hingis win the one Slam she previously missed?

Venus Williams has not done well in Paris before but under the radar she is steadily making solid progress. There are many dangerous floaters in the women’s event such as Safina, Peer and Krajicek. Wonderful – it is almost a lottery to pick the winner.

Academy

Anna and Jo are competing at the highest level of juniors in Italy. Anna has shown signs of copying and worrying some class players but not yet converting good positions into consistent wins. It is a trip geared to learning and find out exactly what needs to improve for both girls to compete effectively with the best.

GCSEs occupy the minds of Naomi and Laura.

All the best,

David

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
